How to receive faxes on ASUS UX21E series:
If The computer has been connected to the fax server and does not need to perform any operations to receive faxes. Instead, new faxes are automatically forwarded to the Windows Fax and Scan Inbox, regardless of whether the computer is connected to the network. If you are not using an internal or external fax modem, you need to choose how to receive faxes.
If you want to use a fax modem to change the sending and receiving of faxes, you need to provide a password or permissions with administrator rights. Users with administrator rights can change settings at any time. Before receiving a fax, make sure your computer is connected to a fax modem or fax server.
1. Automatically receive faxes
a. Click Fax at the bottom.
b. Click Tools and then select Fax Settings. If prompted for an administrator password or permissions, please enter the password or grant permissions.
c. Click the General tab, then in the Send/Receive option, select Allow the device to receive fax calls.
d. Then select Automatically answer after X rings, and then select the corresponding number of rings, so that the modem will automatically try to receive the fax when the call comes.
2. Manually set up to receive faxes
If you set up your computer to receive faxes, Windows will notify you of the incoming call so you can select the corresponding fax. Faxes can be received by clicking on the notification. If you didn't choose to receive faxes automatically or missed the notification, you can still receive the fax before the ring ends by following the steps below.
a. Select Fax at the bottom of the left panel.
b. Click to receive the fax immediately. The Fax Monitor dialog box appears and displays the progress of the fax.
